Hello! My name is Kari Nelson. I have been interested in movement my entire life. I grew up dancing jazz, tap, and ballet so was lucky enough to have been taught body mindfulness from a young age. In my late twenties, I started taking step-aerobics and fell in love with group fitness. I decided to complete a year-long fitness program and received my ACSM cPT certification in 2005. I started personal training part-time but found my passion was with group fitness. The strength and connection of exercising in a group is very motivating and fun. I started taking Les Mills group fitness classes in 2006 and was blown away by the music, moves, and instructors. They were so inspiring. So I went to several trainings and gained my certifications in Les Mills BodyStep, BodyFlow, and BodyCombat. I have been teaching these classes for almost 7 years along with modern, gentle yoga. The best thing I have found about yoga is that anyone of any age and fitness level can participate. There are so many options and variations that it doesn’t have to be intimidating. Anything you are able to do will make you stronger and more agile for all other activities in your life, both mentally and physically. I am excited for this opportunity to meet new, positive people whom I can share my knowledge of body awareness with and show you that you can do more than you think.
